Winter Wonderland

We got a real snow today!  The snow makes it feel more like Christmas is coming.  The woodstove is going making it very cozy and comfortable and the Christmas lights are lit.

Anticipation….of the upcoming holidays

Ok, I will admit I am one of those people that love the Hallmark Christmas movies…they have started and I am hooked!  The holidays are really busy at our house, I host both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I have made my Thanksgiving shopping list and plan on doing my shopping Monday evening after work.  It has been snowing this weekend which helps put me in the spirit!  Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembers what they are thankful for.

I live in Northeast Ohio and among the Amish, these pictures are from this past winter when our neighbors were having church.  They take turns having church at their homes.

Been a long while…..

Fall is just ending and winter is about to begin here in Northeast Ohio.  I have used this blog to post photos I have taken while out and about and I see a trend that I tend to grab the camera in the fall and get into the blogging mood.  I did this again this year.  I think it is the cold weather keeping me indoors and looking at the photos I took while roaming around in the fall.  I found a tractor grave yard which I found bittersweet but perfect for snapping a few photos.

Pictures from our weekend at Roscoe Village

Roscoe Village is a perfect fall location.  The Apple butter festival had the streets full of vendors and fall was in full bloom.  The buildings were hidden by the vendors so I didn’t get any good photos of the buildings but if you google Roscoe Village there are lots of photos of the historic buildings.  The Village was run down and in deplorable conditions and the people in that area were wonderful and restored the buildings for all to enjoy.  The area is beautiful with the changing leaves and the countryside and all the gift shops are decorated for fall.  It puts you in the mood for crisp sunny days with hot cider and good company!

Perfect opportunity to see some great primitive decorating.  I love taking what some would call junk and making it into something great!

Beautiful Fall Weekend in Roscoe Village

It’s that time of year!  Every year we go to Roscoe Village for a long weekend.  It is the weekend of their Apple Butter Festival.
Roscoe Village is a restored 19th century canal town along what was the Ohio Erie Canal.  We travel through beautiful country taking the Ohio back roads to get there.  The colors, fields and barns are just gorgeous this time of year.  Below are pictures of our drive.  The back roads just put me in a good mood, eye candy that I never tire of.

Fall seems to go by so fast.  You notice the beauty and then it is gone.
